Fueled by Faith

We are both believers in the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. Cheryl placed her faith in Jesus as a young elementary student, and I came to know Him personally during my senior year of high school. Cheryl and her family attended Calvary Baptist Church in Findlay, Ohio. Cheryl and I met in high school, and I initially began attending church with her just to be near her—but the Lord captured my heart through the preaching of His Word.

We were married in 1980. I worked as a diesel mechanic for 23 years at various shops, including Peterbilt, Mack, and Conn West Freight Systems. On August 3, 2001, Conn West unexpectedly closed its doors without notice to its employees. Although I received several job offers, my wife and I felt the Lord leading us to start our own business. Just five days later, on August 8, 2001, we founded August Service Center. The journey has had its share of ups and downs, but the Lord has brought us through them all.

In 2008, we purchased an old building in the country and relocated the business. Since then, we’ve completed two building projects, continued to grow, and hired additional employees.

To God be the glory! Our desire is to glorify the Lord through our business and to share Him with our customers—both through our actions and our words. Our company verse is Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Jesus is the only Savior of mankind. He alone is our hope and our joy.
